Schedule

9.45am BE READY

Be ready for start of camp
Enter Zoom meeting
Be wearing your headset and test the microphone
Have participants/campers on mute
Have samples ready to show during Meet 'n' Greet
Have materials ready for demonstration if needed
Have water close by
Have camper info in case you need to contact a parent by phone

10am MEET 'n' GREET (20 Mins)

Greet campers whilst waiting for everyone to join.
Have campers start on their Welcome Activity: Wordsearch
Mute ALL campers then unmute each camper one at a time as you go around the "room" and ask everyone to say their name and an interesting fact you (the instructor) choose.

SUGGESTION: Your favorite dessert

NOTE: Try to get the kids interacting at this point, suggest camper A asks camper B a question etc.

10.20am GOALS (10 Mins)

With campers muted:
- Introduce camp projects
  - Show samples of each item
  - Explain goals for the week
  - and goals for today
- CAMP GUIDELINES

10.30am FASHION DRAWING ACTIVITY (45 Mins)

Choose Your Own

Supplies needed: Bag labelled "Choose Your Own Design"

Markers or colored pencils or Sharpies

11.15am 15 MINUTE BREAK (Use this time to help anyone catch up)

11.30am JEANS SHORTS (30 Mins)

Supplies needed: jeans, scissors, masking tape, measuring tape

VIDEO SHAPING THE SHORTS
We will leave the shorts inside leg length at 4". Campers can try on after camp and adjust if they need to.

EMBELLISHING THE SHORTS
Campers choose how to embellish their shorts. They can start now or just have them watch the videos etc and make a plan to start after lunch.

OPTIONS:

Stitching pompom trim

Stitching with decorative stitches using embroidery floss and bigger needle (in campers bag labelled "Accessories")

Other ideas - coloring with sharpies or fabric markers
Fraying the ends
Turning up the hem

Videos of sewing on pompom trim, chain stitch, lazy daisy stitch, back stitch and french knots are available depending on what the campers choose. You can remind them that they have access to these videos all week. We should have sent the parents the info with password by email.

12PM LUNCH BREAK

1pm EMBELLISHING THE SHORTS & PHONE CASE (50 Mins)

Supplies needed: pincushion, needle threader, scissors, needle (bigger) and embroidery floss, fabric markers or sharpies

Campers should take this time to work on embroidering their projects. In addition to using the pompom trim, they are welcome to use a combination of pens and stitches.

The following videos will teach them some decorative stitches.

Supplies needed: Mannequin, jeans shorts, tulle, pins

Campers who finish early should work on coloring sheet

2.35pm WIND DOWN (25 Mins)

Clean up
Prepare for tomorrow
Show 'n' tell (Proud Of Item)
Tell campers what to bring for show 'n' tell tomorrow
If time - campers share "what I liked about camp today..."

3pm END OF DAY

End Zoom meeting - do not leave open
Make sure you are prepared for tomorrow
