YOu Will Need:

Sewing Machine (preferably the brother cs6000i)

Prepare For Class

Check in with Sew Happy Supervisor

Be wearing your headset (if using)

Test the microphone

Have guests on mute

Have Sew Happy virtual background on

Have samples ready to show

Have materials ready for demonstration

Have water close by
-
Have guest info in case you need to contact a parent by phone
Start Of Class 3.30pm
MEET & GREET
Duration 10 mins

Introduce yourself

With guests UNMUTED ask them to say their name and age (and anything else you want to ask).

GOALS

With students MUTED:

Introduce projects and show sample (in this case just explain)

To learn how to thread a needle, tie a knot, sew and do the lock stitch.

To make a keychain and at least 1 friendship bracelet

To interact with each other.

To have fun and to have a great experience.

Time is precious so go through these quickly.

EVENT GUIDELINES
-
Be engaged so that you catch all the important instructions.
-
Ensure that a parent/adult is within hearing distance in case you need some hands-on help.
-
Only provide positive and complimentary comments to your fellow girl scouts.
-
Please ask if you need to leave the room.
-
Use ‘raise hand’ if you have a question during instructions.
-
Leave video tuned "on".
-
Be on "mute" during instruction time.
-
Keep you cell phone out of reach during party.
-
Avoid eating during the party as sticky hands make sewing difficult.
-
Practice patience and remember that practice makes BETTER!
-
Video tutorials are available for guests after the event so don't worry if they miss anything.

If a guest "raises their virtual hand" wait until a break in the videos before answering them so the class can proceed in a timely manner

Advise guests that videos are available for them after the class so they can catch up

Using the threaded needle follow the instructions to tie a knot

This takes time and patience so make sure guests know that they can watch video after the class to practice more

If a guest already knows how to tie a knot a different way they can use their own method

Clean up - ask students to:

make sure all the pins and needles are either in the pincushion or in a safe place

Remind Girl Scouts that we offer In-Person Classes at our Mamaroneck studio or virtual sewing classes starting in January (Llama & Hedgehog projects).

They have a 10% discount they should have been given by Angelica but if not they can contact us to get the discount.
