Every Project Helps Students To…

Build Life Skills

Students will learn how to tie a knot, thread a needle, sew on a button, and complete a variety of stitches…  Along the way, they must follow a sequence of instructions; problem solve; and do a little sneaky math to complete their project.

Cultivate a “can-do” attitude & bias toward sustainability

In a world of outsourcing and fast-fashion, Sew Happy aims to teach kids that they can create new things, fix broken things, and be part of a more sustainable future.

Develop Mindfulness

Crafts like sewing are shown to increase mindfulness and a state of calm and focus.

Have Fun

Projects are designed by artists to be fun and whimsical.  Students have plenty of room to hand stitch their original design into the project.  What’s your style? Color? Favorite Stitch?
