Classes
​
This combo class is designed especially for kids who are 7 years old and it includes both sewing machine and hand sewing projects. Projects are made from felt which is much easier to sew than woven fabrics, we limit the speed and stitches on the sewing machine, and we keep the use of the iron to a minimum. It's a great introduction to sewing and will provide a strong foundation for future classes.

Sewing Machine For 8-10's and 11-14's
​
Kids ages 8-14 work through two or three Beginner classes before moving up to the Intermediate level. Every Beginner class includes an introductory project, a main project and a seasonal item and new skills and techniques are taught during each one. We offer 2 separate classes for kids ages 8-10 and 11-14 but sometimes we combine them.

Kids in these classes have already learned many sewing skills and techniques at the Beginner classes and they are ready to take their sewing to the next level. Students must be ages 9-14 and have completed at least two sessions of Sewing Machine classes before joining this level. Students younger than 9 should complete a third and/or fourth session of Beginner Sewing.

Kids ages 5-8 learn the wonderful lifeskill of sewing and in addition to finding a new hobby, having fun and fulfilling a creative outlet, they learn other important skills including problem solving, sequencing, fine motor and patience! Projects are always fun and our dedicated instructors ensure a wonderful experience.

These classes are a wonderful opportunity for a parent/caregiver and child to learn something fun together and to bond over a shared interest. For younger kids ages 5-7 we offer "Mommy & Me" hand sewing classes and for kids 8-11 we offer "Mom & Me" hand and machine sewing combo!

For aspiring fashion designers ages 7-9, this class incorporates some fashion sketching, draping, fashion challenges and hand sewing. Kids have a blast working with 18" mannequins and learning basic fashion design skills and techniques.
​
For kids 6-9, these classes teach hand sewing and projects include clothing and accessories for 18" dolls. Not only do kids learn all the basics of hand sewing but they can start to understand the basic construction of clothing.
