Summer Sewing "Selfie Time"

Schedule

8.45am BE READY

​

  • Be ready for start of camp

  • Enter Zoom meeting

  • Be wearing your headset and test the microphone

  • Have participants/campers on mute

  • Have samples ready to show during Meet 'n' Greet

  • Have materials ready for demonstration if needed

  • Have water close by

  • Have camper info in case you need to contact a parent by phone

9am MEET 'n' GREET

​

  1. Admit campers.

  2. Greet campers whilst waiting for everyone to join.

  3. Have campers start on the Welcome Activity - "Selfie Polaroids" Color one camera and cut out. Carefully cut the slit. Use the yarn in the bag with general supplies to make neck strap (poke holes in camera).

  4. This is the time we would like the campers to interact so keep them UNMUTED and ask them to tell an interesting fact you (the instructor) choose.

Supplies needed: pincushion, needle threader, scissors, needle and thread, 4 tote bag straps

​

FELT HEART (PART OF DREAM CATCHER)​

  • Campers need to open bag labelled "Dream Catcher 2"

​​

  • VIDEO "Felt Heart"

  • Campers who finish early can make more felt shapes or color on coloring sheet.

​

  • Continue with felt shapes, suggest adding embroidery stitches to embellish, etc

  • Work on bookmark 1 (whip stitch around sides)

  • Make sure you are prepared for tomorrow

  • To sew a pocket and pocket flap on tote bag

  • To make stuffed hearts for the dream catcher*

  • To learn how to sew

  • To make a bookmark, tote bag, keychain and dream catcher*

  • To have fun and to make new "virtual" friends
